Genie Jackpots Slot – Free Demo

Provider: Blueprint Gaming
On reel 5 the game decides which of its two bonuses you are getting: a chest the Genie hits with a mallet until Collect appears, or a carpet trail ending in Big Money and 1000x the stake. Neither route reaches the Jackpot King pots, which are won on the Wheel King wheel and nowhere else.

The jackpots are not this game's jackpots

The name is a bit of an absurd claim for a game whose jackpots arrive from a pot system bolted on the side. I played it for 350 spins at a 5 credit stake. Blueprint Gaming, for those of you who don't know, is a studio with a lengthy shelf of licensed and branded slots. The pot those jackpots come out of is shared with King Kong Cash Go Bananas Jackpot King, Jackpot King Deluxe Prize Lines and the other games plugged into the same Jackpot King Deluxe system, on any stake on any of them. Genie Jackpots, launched back on December 29, 2015, is one of the older ones still doing the rounds. Across my session the balance went from 1,000 credits to 917.

Genie Jackpots is what I'm assessing here today. Of the 350 spins, 110 paid something, and 59 of those paid back less than the 5 credits they cost. It's a slot that blends components of classic payline action with a lamp-rubbing pantomime theme to it. Two bonus rounds sit behind a single trigger condition, and which of the two you get is decided by the symbol that lands on reel 5.

A banner across an ordinary line win

Genie Jackpots is a 5 by 3 slot with 20 fixed paylines. A line needs only two matching symbols to pay. It arrives with two bonus rounds and a random Power Spins feature, and the arrangement is plain. A banner reading "Power Spins can trigger randomly during any spin!" sat across the top of the reels while an ordinary 10 credit line win resolved at my 5 credit stake.

Two Bonus Scatters and a reel 5 that missed

Wins pay from the far left reel on consecutive reels. Scatter wins are awarded from any position on the reels and are added on top of the line wins. Only the largest win on each line pays, and additional symbols on the reels are the wild, the Bonus Scatters on reels 1 and 3, and the Special Scatter on reel 5. I landed both Bonus Scatters on reels 1 and 3 at a 5 credit bet with reel 5 not coming in, which is as close as the trigger condition gets without paying a bonus. The wild substitutes for everything except the scatter and bonus symbols. The longest I went without any win at all was 10 spins, ending on spin 152.

Minty’s Expert Conclusion: Two rounds in 350 spins produced 855 of the 1,667 credits that came back, and the other half arrived across 110 paying spins, 59 of which returned less than the 5 credits they cost. The 1000x figure sits at the end of the carpet trail, inside Big Money; the progressive pots sit further out again, behind fifteen Crowns and a wheel.

The Genie, the mallet and the lamps

Genie Jackpots arrives with 2 bonuses - the Mystery Win Bonus and the Magic Carpet Bonus - and they are triggered when 2 Bonus Scatters land on reels 1 and 3 alongside a Special Scatter on reel 5. Mine came in twice in 350 spins, on spin 108 and spin 316. Land the Chest Scatter there and you receive the Mystery Win Bonus. The Genie appears in his treasure room next to the chest and hits it with his Magic Mallet before you pick anything, so the round opens with a prize already banked. The Genie strikes the chest for cash prizes and you pick lamps until Collect is revealed. Every lamp that reveals the Genie sends him back to the chest for another prize, and the Bonus Win panel carries the running total between picks until Collect ends the round and pays it.

The other feature is the Magic Carpet Bonus, and if the Magic Carpet Scatter lands on reel 5, you advance along a trail of lamps. You pick a lamp to move, and revealing the special Genie icon transports you to a random position further along. Reaching the Cloud with the Silver Lining enters Big Money. This is the only route to the max win of 1000 times the stake. My best round of the session was worth 555 credits, 111x the stake on spin 316, and it took the balance to its session peak of 1,050 on the spin after.

Fifteen Crowns to reach the wheel

There is also the 3 Wishes Power Spins. You select a Magic Lamp to reveal which wish you have. It triggers randomly on any spin when the Genie emerges from the lamp, awarding a Bonus, a Genie Win Spin, Infectious Monkey Wilds, a 5 of a Kind or Genie Wilds, and on top of that sits the Jackpot King Deluxe Pot System, triggered by 5 overlay symbols on reels 1 to 5. Infectious Monkey Wilds jump out of their symbol and turn whatever sits next to them wild, while Genie Wilds can turn any position wild, double the win, or respin the reels for up to two big Winning Spins. Crowns climb a win ladder there, and 15 or more of them enter Wheel King. After a spin you choose an icon: Spin goes again with any fresh Crowns added to the ladder, Collect ends the feature and pays a Total Bet multiplier based on where the ladder stopped, and Wheel King goes straight to the wheel. That is the only place the Royal Pot, Jackpot King and Regal Pot progressives are awarded. The wheel mixes Big Win multiplier segments with pot segments, so it can end on a Total Bet multiplier rather than a jackpot, and a pot that is won resets to its reserve amount.

855 credits out of 1,667

The two bonus rounds carried my entire session. Between them they were 51% of everything the 350 spins returned. They paid 855 credits of the 1,667 I won back over 350 spins at 5 credits a spin. There were 208 spins between the first and the second, and the balance was at 493 credits when the second one triggered, having dropped as far as 442.50 along the way.
