This slot by Blueprint Gaming is a tad lower in volatility. My longest run without a win was 13 spins, and it ended on spin 35. As much as I adore high volatility, it can tend to become a tad overdone. And it's always pleasant with some lower volatility to be able to bet on, or at least to be able to activate a bonus to preserve ones composure when they fail to land on the big slots. My balance started at 1,000.00, peaked at 1,154.00 on spin 51 and closed at 960.00, which was also its lowest point.

Oranges, gems and a Pot of Gold wild

Luck O' The Irish Cash Strike arrives with 4 high value symbols, 4 low value symbols, Cash symbols, a Collect symbol and a wild. Every paying symbol pays for three of a kind only, from 1x the stake for three cherries to 30x for three red gems. The Cash symbols are gold coins, the Collect symbol is the Cash Strike coin and the wild is the Pot of Gold symbol. The Pot of Gold wild substitutes for every symbol except the Cash and Collect symbols. The low value symbols are depicted by oranges, plums, lemons and cherries. On spin 425, at my 1.00 stake, the Pot of Gold wild completed a line of oranges on line 5 and paid 4.00.

The top-tier symbols are depicted by red gems, blue gems, grapes and watermelons, while the wild symbol is the most lucrative one and yields a payout of 50x for a wild line. On any spin, a Collect symbol on reel 2 gathers every Cash symbol in view on reels 1 and 3, a feature the rules call Cash Collect.

One Collect on reel 2, held for the whole round

Cash symbols on reels 1 and 3 with a Collect symbol on reel 2 activate the Cash Strike Bonus, and a series of spins begins. In it, every new Cash symbol is added to the Collect symbols in view. It returns the spins to 3. The Collect symbol that started the feature holds in place on reel 2 throughout, and each Cash symbol it takes is removed from the reels once counted.

The Cash Strike Bonus begins with 3 spins. The feature ends when three Spins pass without a new Cash symbol, and the totals on all Collect symbols in view are then paid at the bet of the triggering spin. Up to 3 Collect symbols can appear on reel 2. My first Cash Strike Bonus came on spin 51, and with a single Collect symbol throughout it paid 182.00 after a 150x and a 25x Cash symbol had each reset the Spins to 3.

The Minty Summary: One round carried the session. The spin 51 bonus paid 182 times the stake, most of it from a single 150x coin, and it lifted the balance to a peak the remaining 389 spins never came back to.

The pot of gold that never struck

I'm not truly looking at anything fresh or original here. It's highly traditional in layout and gameplay, and Luck O' The Irish Cash Strike is a basic, uncomplicated game without any intricate features to keep track of. My biggest win outside the bonus was 22.00 on spin 265, a blue gem line worth 20x plus a 2x Cash symbol taken by Cash Collect.

The Gold Strike Feature was a tad puzzling, and the information screen states that every Cash and Collect symbol that lands heads into the pot of gold and that Gold Strike can activate at any moment. When it does, symbols are added to the reels that guarantee the Cash Strike Bonus. Collecting symbols into the pot didn't truly appear to make much impact, and I expected Gold Strike to activate at some stage, but that never occurred in my 440 spins. My second Cash Strike Bonus arrived on spin 257, 206 spins after the first, and paid 27.00 after one more Cash symbol, a 15x, landed. The rules label the collection cosmetic only, so the result is already determined, and either you receive it, or you don't. I wagered 440.00 in total and won 400.00, a session return of 90.9%.

With that stated, I did relish the game. The two bonus rounds paid 209.00 between them, 52% of everything I won.

Usually I'm not that excited about medium volatility slots. But seeing the bonus round can carry on for quite a bunch of spins, it's not unlikely that it can deliver some decent wins.
