Lucky Wu Megaways Slot – Free Demo

117,649 ways under a 4-symbol top reel

Studio Inspired Gaming is back, and this time around they have opted for a Megaways layout. The session behind this review ran for 300 spins at a stake of 1.00. It is a slot named Lucky Wu Megaways. Other Megaways slots on the site include Morgana Megaways and Fu Fortunes Megaways.

Lucky Wu Megaways is available from 0.20 to 10 credits per spin. Fortune Bet raises the bet by 50% and adds more Bonus scatters to the reels, taking the top stake to 15.00 per spin. It is a high volatility slot providing an RTP of 95.50%. Over the session, 64 of the 300 spins paid, and 28 of those paid less than the stake. Each spin sees 6 reels of 2 to 7 symbols fall into the matrix, plus a 4-symbol top reel, and the aim is to hit identical symbols on neighbouring reels from left to right for a win, across up to 117,649 ways. The ways count changes with every spin as the reel heights shift, and one base-game spin at a stake of 1.00 showed 8,820 ways.

When this occurs, you might be anticipating some kind of cascade mechanic. Inspired opted to employ that choice, and winning symbols are cleared, then fresh ones fall in until no further win arrives. The Wild lands on the upper reel only and substitutes for all regular pay symbols except the Bonus scatter.

The symbols employed in the game are a motley collection of symbols, and on the lower end are 9-A symbols, trailed by pigs, frogs, and fish. The top combo for these symbols is 6 of a kind. They hand out 0.8 – 7.5 times the stake. Within that band, the fish pays 7.5 times the stake, pigs and frogs 2 times, A and K 1.75 times, 10, J and Q 1 time and 9 pays 0.8 times. By far the most rewarding symbol is the dragon, and it hands out 50 times the stake for 6 of a kind. The Bonus scatter is the Jade Dragon.

Mystery Symbols and a multiplier with no ceiling

It's not all viewing symbols fall in. There are also two mechanics to watch out for, and these are Mystery Symbols and Free Spins. Mystery Symbols can land anywhere on the reels, both in the base game and during Free Spins.

The Mystery Symbols mechanic is active on any spin, and when mystery symbols hit, all of those in sight change into the same random pay symbol. The symbol they turn into is always a regular pay symbol, never a Wild or a scatter.

If 4 Bonus scatters land, then 12 free spins are granted, plus 2 for each additional scatter, and in free spins round a win multiplier begins at x1. During Free Spins, scatters land only on the upper reel, where 3 of them add 5 free spins and 4 add 10. Every time a winning cascade arrives, the multiplier climbs by 1. That multiplier has no upper limit and applies to every win in the round, which can run to a maximum of 80 free spins.

The Minty Breakdown: Lucky Wu Megaways is another enjoyable little slot from Inspired Gaming. Across the 300-spin session, the balance went from 1,000.00 to 1,497.90, a return of 266.0%.

572 times the stake from one retrigger

Lucky Wu Megaways awards up to 25,000 times the stake, and large wins are feasible during Free Spins. The three bonus rounds in the session paid 709.00 between them, 89% of everything won. Multipliers can really pile up there. The largest bonus round came on spin 165, where 16 free spins retriggered for 5 more and paid 572 times the stake.

During testing, the small-value wins led to a whole lot of nothing going on for a spell; however, the game perked up after a time. The longest run without a win lasted 18 spins, ending on spin 195, and the balance dipped as low as 955.80.

The mechanics were rather enjoyable too, and the first time free spins were triggered, 12 spins were granted. That round landed on spin 45 and did not retrigger. That delivered a 49x win from the mechanic, not entirely 25,000x, but neat all the same. The second round came 69 spins later on spin 114, dealing 16 free spins and paying 88 times the stake.

To wrap up, Lucky Wu Megaways is another agreeably engaging slot. Outside the bonus rounds, the biggest single win was 12 times the stake on spin 253. It is from Inspired Gaming.
