The action happens on a 5x3, 10-payline layout. The ten lines are fixed and cannot be changed. Lines pay leftmost to right, and only the highest win per line counts. For all its chatter of fortune, there is a lion stalking the reels, but scarcely anything else in the way of fauna. Where the Hunting Reels come from

Landing 3 or more Wild Lions in view sets off the game’s Free Spins feature, and at the outset of this round every reel that carried a Wild Lion turns into a Hunting Reel. Reels that held no Wild Lion at the trigger stay ordinary for the whole round. When triggered, 10 free spins are granted. Any win that includes a Wild Lion on a Hunting Reel is multiplied by that reel’s multiplier. Each Wild Lion that drops on a Hunting Reel lifts that reel’s multiplier by 1 from the following spin onwards, and multipliers resting on separate reels multiply together. The rules work an example: wilds on three Hunting Reels at x3, x7 and x2 come to x42.

Hitting the 30,000x bet limit halts the Free Spins there and then. It pays out the 30,000x.

Finally, players can pay 80 times their whole bet to trigger free spins with 3 or more Wild Lions via the Buy Feature, where allowed. What that price buys is the same trigger the base game hands out for nothing, at the same frequency. Savannah Fortune emerges as a bit of a disappointment, with so much expertise to lean on at Quickspin, and it’s definitely not a wildly inventive outing that carries players to spots they’ve never visited before - far from it. Savannah Fortune seems like a throwback, from an ordinary theme to recycled features. Five hundred spins at a 6-credit stake converted 3,000.00 wagered into 1,305.60 credits returned. Of those 500 spins, 85 paid anything at all, and 42 of the 85 paid back less than the stake. That was a 43.5% return, and it never once let the balance rise above the 5,000 credits it began with. The low point was 3,217.40, and that is where the balance stood when the one bonus arrived. There was a 34-spin blank stretch that finished on spin 141. The balance closed at 3,305.60.

On that note, having the trigger determine which reels turn into Hunting Reels varies things to a degree. My round ran its 10 free spins and stopped, with no retrigger. Less engaging is the expanding wild. The next two best spins, 192.00 on spin 445 and 174.00 on spin 407, both came out of the base game.
