Haunted House Slot – Free Demo

Provider: WMG
Three houses open a round of doors where a sack pays, a ghost takes a life and a thumbs up moves the player a level higher. Across 470 spins at a 2.00 stake that round came up three times, while the green-faced vampire wild stood in on the fruit lines.

A mansion with two vampires on the reels

WMG's Haunted House is a slot based on a haunted mansion. It is not the same game as Playtech's Haunted House, which shares the title. Vampires, a zombie in a top hat and a Frankenstein-style monster are lurking in it. NetEnt's Blood Suckers is another slot built on a vampire theme.

This 5-reel, 3-row slot is run with 10 fixed paylines. Wins are read from left to right and pay for 3, 4 or 5 of a kind, with only the highest win on each line paid. It takes bets from 0.05, and core to the slot is the Bonus Game. That includes a door-opening round with tiers to climb up through. I played it at a 2.00 stake from a starting balance of 1,000.00.

Purple cape over top hat

The regular symbols are 8 in total. They are represented by 5 low-paying fruits and 3 high-paying symbols built out of a zombie in a top hat, a Frankenstein-style monster, as well as the pale vampire in a purple cape. He is of greatest worth out of all regular symbols, and 5 of him on a line award 125 times the stake. Four of him pay 50 times the stake and three pay 12.5 times, while five of the zombie or the monster pay 25 times.

The game also comes with a collection of special symbols. They are a wild, the green-faced vampire in a red cape, and a house symbol that activates the Bonus Game. The wild stands in for everything except the house, and in one spin it sat on reel 1 to complete a line with cherries on reels 2 to 4 for a 4.00 win at the 2.00 stake.

Bags, ghosts and a thumbs up behind the doors

Roughly 13% of what my session won came from the Bonus Game. My three bonus rounds paid 105.60 between them, out of 812.40 won across the session.

On the reels, the Bonus Game is activated by landing 3 or more house symbols. All three of mine opened on three houses, and on the first, on spin 9, the reels also paid 2.00, which was added to the bonus prize at the end of the round.

Tap the doors to open them. A blue or yellow bag earns a prize, a ghost costs a life, and a "thumbs up" moves you to the next level with a chance at more prizes. My rounds paid 33.20, 56.00 and 16.40, or 16.6, 28 and 8.2 times the stake.

The Minty Breakdown: So this is not a novel build. Nor was it intended to be, and it's just as much a traditional online slot as a haunted mansion is a traditional horror backdrop. Of my spins, 137 paid something, and I wagered 940.00 to get 812.40 back, a session return of 86.4%. The base game is, of course, what it's all about, while there is middling promise in the bonus.

Spin 57 and the slide to 872.40

The balance peaked at 1,195.40 on spin 57 and ended at its lowest point, 872.40. My 470 spins finished with a largest win of 93 times the stake, but I'll accept it. That was 186.00 on spin 57, and the longest run without a win was 20 spins, ending on spin 117.
