The Thunder Buddies wheel decides the round

There are several features contained in Ted Jackpot King, and the first one is the Thunder Buddies Bonus. It opened five times in my session, first on spin 41 and last on spin 388. It comes into play when 3 or more Bonus Scatter symbols land anywhere in view. One of the Ted Modifiers, Psychedelic Bonus Boost, adds extra bonus symbols to the reels and raises the chance of the trigger landing on that spin. Before the bonus starts, you get to spin a wheel that determines which of five features you're actually getting. Whatever it lands on can then be gambled up a ladder that ranks the five features bottom to top by average payout, and winning a gamble collects the feature climbed to and eliminates everything below it. These are the Wheel Of Fortune Bonus, the Bar Crawl Bonus, S Mart Free Spins, Ted Free Spins and the Ted Big Money Bonus, and the trigger itself pays nothing, so whatever the wheel settles on is the entirety of the round. My five rounds paid 572.00 between them, from 76.00 on spin 41 up to 298.00 on spin 196.

When the wheel stops on one of the two free spins prizes, things intensify, and S Mart Free Spins grants you 5 spins and leaves it at that. Through those spins Ted runs along a conveyor belt beside the reels, the Ted Wild pattern on the shelves behind shifts left to right each spin, and when the belt stops those positions on the reels are filled with wilds before the lines are counted. Ted Free Spins shifts the game onto a 5x4 grid with up to 40 win lines. A bonus grid sits above the reels holding cash prizes, extra free spins and extra wilds, with a marker sweeping left to right and awarding whatever it stops on, and the last position of each sweep becomes an advance arrow. Moreover, a feature win can be gambled up the ranked ladder of the other features. Landing on the Mystery Win segment during that wheel spin ends the gamble instead, paying a cash value based on a multiplier of the total bet. Only the Ted Big Money Bonus is left off the ladder. It is still reachable from inside the other features, since reaching the middle of the Wheel Of Fortune goes straight there and collecting five counters in the Bar Crawl does the same. Landing 5 Jackpot King Deluxe symbols across reels 1 to 5 unlocks the pot system. From there the reels spin to gather Crown symbols up a ladder, and after each spin the player picks an icon revealing Spin, Collect or Wheel King. 15 or more Crowns take you into Wheel King, which is the only spot a jackpot can actually be won. Ted Jackpot King is the most volatile Ted slot to date. My session ran 920.00 through it at 2.00 a spin and got 844.40 back, taking the balance from 1,000.00 to 924.40. The base game is just a filler to liven things up a bit, as normally is the case with these slots. The longest I went without a win of any size was 19 spins, ending on spin 428. In truth, it's all about the bonus round. The gaps between my five ran from 69 spins to 112, and the balance was at its lowest of 885.00 when the third of them arrived. My 460 spins bore that out - five Thunder Buddies Bonuses paid 572.00 between them, which was 68% of everything I won. The largest of them, on spin 196, paid 298.00, or 149.0x the stake, and carried the balance up to 1,181.00.

The Minty Take: Five bonus rounds in 460 spins produced 68% of everything the session won, and the wheel that opens them hands out five different features, one of which is a straight multiplier round and another a board crawl. The spread between the smallest of my five and the largest was 52.00 against 298.00, on the same 2.00 stake and the same trigger.
