Twenty-Five Lines and a Watch
Double-O Dollars arrives from provider Habanero, and as the title makes reference, I'm away to the realm of covert operatives. It's for some espionage-themed excitement alongside expanding reels, wilds, a gamble feature and free spins. I played 350 spins of it, starting from a balance of 2,000.00.
Gamblers get their watch on by choosing wagers from 0.25 to 5,000 per spin, and Double-O Dollars opts for a low volatility maths model. I kept the stake at 1.25 for the whole session, putting 437.50 through the reels. RTP, meanwhile, yields a figure of 95.98%. My balance finished at 2,130.96 and never dipped below 1,949.95.
The standard 5x3 sized layout rewards across 25 fixed paylines in the base game, and as you'd anticipate, expanding rows has an impact on win ways as well. It raises them from 25 paylines up to 1,024 ways during free spins, and bear in mind that Double-O Dollars awards from the far-left reel exclusively, with wins of 3 or more. With the lines fixed, every base game spin plays all 25 of them.
The blond agent is the most lucrative symbol on the paytable, and there is a wild, the watch. It substitutes for everything except the Bonus symbol. In a line win, the watch completes the line as if it were the symbol it sits alongside. It awards nothing on its own, though. The other high symbols are the golden gun, the gadgets, the binoculars and the satellite, while the rocket and the cocktail sit among the low symbols.
Crossed Guns and the 5x4 Grid
Landing 3 or more crossed guns scatters on the reels grants 10 free spins, and the scatters pay anywhere as well, up to 50x the total bet for 5. Gamers may risk it after any win for a chance to double it. Wilds do not substitute for the crossed guns, so a free spins trigger needs three genuine scatters.
Free spins begin on an adjusted grid configuration of 5x4 in structure, and a couple of alterations happen in the bonus. The layout operates 1,024 win ways. On those ways, matching symbols only need to land on adjacent reels from the leftmost, in any position. The spins are taken at the triggering bet, and the feature cannot be retriggered.
Spin 188 and the 120x Cap
The Minty Take: Double-O Dollars is a small newcomer from Habanero, and it's got a covert aesthetic that matches the title, as well as low volatility. It's not the fiercest creature, nor the biggest paying, but I did witness proof of its advertised cap. That was a 117x win on spin 188 of my 350-spin session, near to the 120x max win. It paid 146.25 at my 1.25 stake and took my balance to its session peak of 2,180.84.
Nonetheless, Double-O Dollars has a pleasant rhythm, scoring wins on 138 of 350 spins at a pace that renders it simple to remain driven, and the other motivation to continue spinning is a bonus round on the enlarged grid. It did not activate once in my 350 spins, though. The longest run without any win at all was 10 spins, ending on spin 68.
All told, Double-O Dollars is a small launch.
