Two ways into the Free Games

3, 4 or 5 Phoenix Scatter symbols launch the Free Games feature. Three Scatters was the trigger I saw most often, three times in 500 spins. That grants 8, 28 or 288 Free Games with all wins at x2. Only the eight-game version turned up in my run. Wilds on reels 1, 3 and 5 instead grant 28 Free Games with all wins at x5. That was the trigger on spin 11, and the 28 Free Games came back with 47.60, or 34.0x the stake.

Landing 3 Wilds during Free Games retriggers the feature. None of the four features I played through retriggered. It boosts the leftover Free Games to x5.

Four features in five hundred spins

When I tested Mystic Fortune Deluxe I had no difficulty at all triggering the bonus at first. That first one came from Wilds on reels 1, 3 and 5, the x5 route rather than the Scatters. That was a bit unexpected for a medium-volatility slot, and it took me exactly 11 spins to trigger the first bonus, which is generous, but for the second bonus I had to play through another 248 spins. The balance peaked at 2,058.98 on that eleventh spin and never returned to it.

Later in the session I did land bonuses a bit more often, with the last three arriving 141 and then 36 spins apart. All three were three-Scatter triggers, paying 12.60, 25.20 and 51.80. But still, this can be a bit of a risky slot on this evidence. The longest run without any win at all was 15 spins, ending on spin 291. Across 500 spins I wagered 700.00 and won back 431.24, a return of 61.6%, with only 153 paying spins and 87 of those paying less than the stake, and the best single spin of the whole run was 51.80, or 37.0x the stake. Free Games accounted for 137.20 of that, 32% of everything I won, and the balance closed at 1,731.24 from a 2,000.00 start.

Just a slight gripe - it is a bit irritating that one has to sit through and watch the Wild nudge into place, even when it is an obvious losing spin. The nudge fires any time a Wild lands partly in view, which on three of the five reels is often.

Final Minty Score: Four Free Games rounds in 500 spins returned 137.20 between them, a third of everything the run won, and the other two thirds arrived in 153 paying spins of which 87 came back under the 1.40 stake. Habanero itself publishes only rounded variants for the game, around 86%, 92%, 94%, 97% and 98%, so 96.71% is the figure this site carries rather than one the studio states, and it is worth checking build by build. Its max win is 4,733x, and my best spin in five hundred was 37.0x.
