With Book of Aztec, Amatic returns me to the fundamentals, and as you can likely tell from the look of it, it's a Book slot influenced game. Book of Ra Deluxe and Book of Dead are two other slots that follow the same book format. It's very minimal and uncomplicated in the sense that it truly only includes one feature. There's nothing remarkable about the layout. Line wins pay from the leftmost reel to the right on adjacent reels, and only the highest win on each line is paid. It arrives with 5 reels, 3 rows and fixed 10 paylines, and players can wager between 10 and 1,000 credits per spin. Line wins are paid as a multiple of the line bet, which at my 10.00 stake was 1.00.
Explorers, jaguars and a Book that works two shifts
On the reels you will spot symbols such as 10, J, Q, K, A, Golden fish, Golden jaguar, Pyramids and Explorers, and the Explorer is the highest paying regular symbol. The Pyramid sits one step below it, with 5 of a kind worth 200 times the stake. The Explorer grants you 500 times the stake for 5 of a kind. Any symbol except the Book
In the base game, watch out for the Book symbol. Bonusspins are played at the same bet and number of lines as the spin that triggered them. 3 Books anywhere will grant you 10 Bonusspins, and if you hit another 3 during the bonus, you'll be given an extra 10 Bonusspins to bring your count to 20. The round arrived four times in my session, on spins 91, 166, 169 and 259, and only the one on spin 166 retriggered to 20.
In the Bonusspin feature you will profit from one element. The expanding symbol is picked at the start of the round and can be any symbol except the Book. The chosen expanding symbol enters into play, and it pays on all active lines whether or not the symbols are adjacent. The usual line wins are paid before the chosen symbol expands, and the Book does not substitute during the expansion.
Minty’s Final Note: Book of Aztec is a simple slot that doesn't feature explosive wins. Over 430 spins I wagered 4,300.00 and won back 2,850.00, a session return of 66.3%. Yet it should not be dismissed. The best of it was 1,085.00 on spin 166, or 108.5 times the stake, when Golden fish expanded across three reels three times at 300.00 each. It does, in truth, have a max win potential of 5000 times the stake.
