Cocktails, Wilds and paying in both directions

The slot pays in both directions. Wins are multiplied by the bet level. Symbols therefore win from the leftmost and the rightmost reel alike, and there is a wild symbol that substitutes all standard symbols except the Cocktail. One frame I captured shows a Wild sitting on reel five with the palms still covering the top and bottom rows. There is also a Cocktail scatter that pays anywhere on the reels. Three, four or five Cocktails pay 10, 50 or 100 times the total bet. Those scatter wins are added to whatever the ways have paid. Each one that lands also removes a random palm before pays are awarded, and the palms conceal the first and fifth rows at the beginning of every base game, so players are heavily reliant on the Cocktails to open the reel set up.

Two features that arrive without warning

The slot has two random features that can occur on any spin:

Symbol Multiplier Feature - random symbols are awarded double multipliers that are multiplied together. How many symbols get one varies from spin to spin. They are never Cocktails.

Extra Wilds - two random symbols are turned into Wilds before pays are awarded. The two it picks are never existing Wilds and never Cocktails.

Mount Mazuma has one bonus feature, and in the main game, landing three or more Cocktails will launch 10 free games at the triggering bet. The Cocktails that trigger it clear palms on the way in, one per Cocktail. There is no retrigger to prolong them.

Over 250 spins at a 10.00 stake I saw the Free Games once, on spin 162. The balance went from 1,086.00 to 1,336.00 over the round. It paid 260.00, or 26 times the stake - 22% of everything the session won, and the Extra Chance! safeguard never came into it, as the round surpassed 5x the bet on its own.

Closing at 670.00 from a 2,000.00 start

It's not one of the more intricate slots that I have reviewed here, but the ways-both-directions reel set with two rows sealed behind palms takes a little getting used to, and as with most slots that do not obey the conventional rules I'm used to, players will naturally feel a bit adrift and disorientated at first. One trigger in 250 spins is all I got, and a sample that size can show me what the feature paid without saying anything reliable about how often it arrives.

My own stretch was a harsh one: 2,500.00 wagered for 1,170.00 back, a 46.8% return, with only 63 of 250 spins paying anything. The four biggest results outside the bonus were 290.00, 44.00, 42.00 and 36.00, on spins 60, 23, 143 and 222. 38 of those paid less than the stake. That leaves 25 spins in 250 that returned at least the 10.00 they cost.
